The last couple of days have been a whirlwind! Yesterday, we went to our normal, weekly check up and Dr. Johnson was surprised with the measurements of Potsticker (seeming to have grown a lot in a week). After further examination, she decided we should get an ultrasound to see if baby had flipped.
Scheduled right away, we learned that baby was breeched! Sarah and I were pretty bummed at first. We have spent so much time preparing to have this magical, dream birth, that there was a little let down feeling. However, the end result is the same...we will have a baby either way!
Today, we went to meet another doctor...Dr Griffiths, and he did more examination to see if baby could be flipped. At first he thought he might be able to, but he quickly decided that baby is WAY too big to flip and the placenta is in the wrong spot to safely try it.
That brings us to now...we are having a scheduled C-section on Monday at 11:00! It is crazy to know when we get to meet Potsticker! I don't plan on sleeping much Sunday night! Sarah and I are going to enjoy our last weekend of sleep and we are going to go out to eat a lot! :) We are super stoked to have this baby and we are meeting with our doula on Sunday to talk about ways that the c-section can be less clinical and some options we have.
We are having the baby at St Francis in Shakopee on Monday, 9/12/11 at 11:00 AM. We will be there for four days and I am sure we will update this blog/Facebook with pictures as soon as baby is born! I bet we will enjoy visitors for short periods of time mid-week! Just text me!
Thanks for all your support!
